" Every Kansan should see this show."
That's what folks were saying in March when "Kansas: Home on the Range"
was presented for the first time at Hutchinson's Historic Fox Theatre.
Now the show is bigger and better than ever -- telling a broader story with a cast of 150 people.
From our Native American heritage to Bleeding Kansas,
cattle trails to the Pony Express...
from cowboys to tornadoes,
early settlers to immigrants of today...
'Home on the Range" celebrates Kansans who have gone on to become
famous leaders, artists, and inventors...
and how Kansas has inspired movies and the hit parade.
It is a multi-media pageant with music, dance, poetry, storytelling.
And it's an experience you won't want to miss.
The cast features performers from all over the state:
Wichita Community Children's Choir
Wichita Asian Association Dance Team
Groupo De Floreo De Reyes Rivera
Dancers and drummers from the Mid-America All-Indian Center
The Sesquicentennial Symphony, directed by Dr. Richard Koshgarian
Narration by Bill Barwick of the Encore Westerns Channel
Video Production by First Generation Video
Written by Martha Slater Farrell, based on an original concept of Roger Ringer, and presented by the Western Music Association - Kansas Chapter
